BOKRUG was spawned on 2003 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Born as the result of the inspiration of H.P. Lovecraft and E.A. Poe's novels, the horror movies of low budget and the music of bands like CARCASS, MORTICIAN, IMPETIGO & NECRONY.

With out any line-up, no releases, no live shows, in 2004 BOKRUG started spreading its Grind Death metal (old school: by sound and lyrics) in compilations, free distribution & hand-to-hand distribution of different recordings, which received good reviews in specialized zines. In 2006 they played in a tribute concert for DEATH called "Mordiendo el Dolor" and in 2007 they started working in "Ancient Horrors and Bloody Visions" their debut album, out in 2008 through Disembodied Records.

A new OMNIUM GATHERUM track entitled "Nail" has been posted on the band's MySpace page. The track comes off the Finish metal act's fourth album, "The Redshift", which is scheduled for release on September 22 in Europe and October 14 in the U.S. via Candlelight Records.

Since its inception in 1996, the name of AVERSE SEFIRA has reverberated through the underground with relentless intensity.
This Texas trio has become notable within the American Black Metal vanguard as they struck in Europe and North and South America with a succession of tours alongside veteran acts Dark Funeral, Candlemass, Watain and 1349.
After three acclaimed albums AVERSE SEFIRA signed with Candlelight Records in 2006. This new partnership resulted in the re-release of their 2001 album, Battle's Clarion, and now their fourth full-length outing, Advent Parallax.
This album generated a wide degree of appraisal and exposure for the band and has further cemented their reputation as a revered and heavy-hitting unit.
In 2008, AVERSE SEFIRA appeared on a successful US tour with Rotting Christ, Belphegor, and Immolation in support of their album.
They will tour Europe with Gorgoroth in Autumn, 2008, and a new album will announced in the following year.

ABIGAIL WILLIAMS has completed work on its full-length debut titled "In the Shadow of a Thousand Suns". Produced by James Murphy and featuring contributions from Trym Torson (Emperor, Zyklon), the album will be released on October 28 via Candlelight Records.

Commented vocalist Sorceron: "We couldn't be happier with the results. The addition of Trym's legendary drumming and the experience on the production/mixing end that James brought to us has been priceless. This album wholly eclipses everything we've recorded in the past and we can't wait to begin playing the new material live."

An intense project with recording and tracking beginning in January of this year, "In the Shadow of a Thousand Suns" features ten new songs from the band currently featuring keyboardist Ellyllon, bassist Plaguehammer, guitarists Matt Brown and Bjornthor, drummer Samus with band founder/vocalist Sorceron. Mixed at Fascination Street Studios/Sweden by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia), Lost to the Living features nine new songs from this cherished, North Carolina-based doom metal band. Working with Travis Smith (Amon Amarth, Soilwork) for the album’s packaging, it promises to be another fan and critic favorite. "We all feel confident this is the strongest album we've made," says drummer Jesse Haff. "The material is a mix of beautiful, melancholic leads and harsh dissonant rhythms; all the despair-driven hooks and dark atmosphere you've come to expect from us." Formed in 1996, Daylight Dies drummer Haff with guitarist Barre Gambling slowly crafted songs that would make their appearance on the band’s 2002 debut No Reply (Relapse). Their second album, the impressive Dismantling Devotion, was released March 2006 via Candlelight Records. Revolver Magazine called it "as thoughtful and compellingly musical as it is bleak and vengeful... essential." A US tour with Moonspell and friends Katatonia, the band including vocalist Nathan Ellis, bassist Egan O’Rourke, guitarist Charley Shackelford, together with Gambling and Haff completed 2006 on an all-time high.

The cover artwork for "De Oppresso Liber", the full-length debut from the Los Angeles-based black metal band SOTHIS, can be viewed at this location. The CD, which is scheduled for release on September 1 via Candlelight Records, was recorded in Los Angeles and mixed in Sweden by Andy La Rocque (KING DIAMOND).

Founding member Dross (drums) says of the new album, "If you are into aggressive, polished black metal that is well executed then you're going to love 'De Oppresso Liber'. We've been able to capture some incredible performances and couple them with some very talented engineers. A fixture on the Los Angeles area, SOTHIS released through independent channels its four-song mini-album in late 2004. A regional tour was set up with performances throughout the Southwest; the shows inspiring two limited-release DVDs that capture the band's impressive stage personnae. The band's self-financed video for "Sinister Nation" has seen over 10,000 views since its premiere and further showcases their commanding live performance.

Featuring vocalist Drogoth, guitarists Scathe and Nylock, keyboardist Asperia, along with Dross, SOTHIS is ready to expand their already growing fanbase. Signing with Candlelight Records, maintaining offices in Philadelphia and London, the band teams up with a growing label dedicated to development. Dross says, "We are extremely happy to be working with Candlelight Records. If you think about it there is really no better home for us. Candlelight and SOTHIS have the same goals and vision for the future; I just can't tell which of us is more determined to reach them."

Candlelight Records today confirms the signing of multi-national progressive doom-death outfit The Living Fields.  The trio, with members based in Chicago, London and Ottawa, has received early acclaim via their self-released 2004 and 2007 recordings.  Now working on their Candlelight debut, currently titled Running Out of Daylight and planned for release in early 2009, the band looks to take the next step in their still developing career.

“Candlelight has been very successful working with bands that defy convention,” says guitarist Jason Muxlow regarding the band’s choice of label. “Their discography is filled with milestones.  Their legacy undoubtably speaks for itself and we're thrilled to be part of their future.”

Originally formed in 2002 by Muxlow, The Living Fields have had their sound likened to that of My Dying Bride, November’s Doom, and others.  But with a twist.  Together with vocalist Jon Higgs (also of Monsterworks) and drummer Chad Walls (Brodequin, Enter Self), Muxlow and The Living Fields explore a wide range of sounds and styles utilizing a palette of guitar, drums, bass, strings, piano, and spine-chilling vocals that will amaze fans and critics worldwide.  "True epic metal of a most norm-shattering aspect," says Terrorizer of the band’s self-titled debut.  “Mandatory,” adds Metal Maniacs.

TOXIC HOLOCAUST has posted a new preview track, “Endless Armageddon”, from their Relapse debut An Overdose Of Death…. This track, as well as “Gravelord” and “War Is Hell” also taken from the upcoming full-length, can be heard now via the band’s MySpace: MySpace.com/ToxicHolocaust. An Overdose Of Death… is set for a September 2nd North American release date, September 8th internationally.

TOXIC HOLOCAUST have also begun work on their first-ever music video, for An Overdose Of Death… track “Wild Dogs”. This video is being shot in Seattle, WA with director Ryan Short and the King of Hearts Productions crew.

Venturia released one of the hottest debuts of recent years with 2006's "The New Kingdom". Now the band has returned with another masterwork in "Hybrid"with the first pressing containing a bonus DVD. Building upon the unique sound heard on their debut,"Hybrid" is a fitting title for the numerous sounds that make up the Venturia sound in 2008. "Hybrid" sees Venturia's music sounding even more modern, veering away from classical prog metal edge heard on the debut and delving into new territories. The majority of the change can be heard on the new songs arrangements with the addition of some ambient guitars and keyboards being treated in a trip-hop and electronic music style.

The balance between the male vocals of Marc Ferreiraand female vocals of Lydie Robin are now equal and "Hybrid" saw Lydie involved in the writing of the lyrics for the first time. The bands two distinct vocal approaches help create the distinguished Venturia sound with Marc's more aggressive style contrasting perfectly with Lydie's touch of sensuality, passion, heart and soul. Lyrically most of the words were written by Charly Sahona with the main subjects covering the duality between heart and reason, the buddhist wisdom, art and transcendental idealism, addictive seduction. Lydie Robin also wrote some lyrics with Charly Sahona focus on the barbarian ritual of Excision in Africa in the song "Why? This women's life" .This song is one of the highlights of the album. Lydie's singing and the music of "Why?" have never been so intense. Lydie also wrote about the hypocrisy and the abuse of power politicians use in the song "Swearing lies".

The amazing musicianship of Charly Sahona, Thomas James and Diego Rapacchietti is once again something to behold with the final sound being a blend between metal, prog, pop, classical, electronic music and the technical parts are even crazier. Despite these changes fans of the bands debut will grasp the new album with open arms with the sound never being mistaken for anyone other than Venturia.

"Hybrid" was recorded at Artsonik studio, Delémont, Switzerland and produced by Charly Sahona and Diego Rapacchietti. The sound is modern, crisp and powerful yet sounding more organic than the debut – in short a killer production.

Edie Sedgwick is the alter ego of Justin Moyer (Antelope and ElGuapo/Supersystem). His recordings and live shows feature collaborations with Melissa Quinley (Soccer Team), Amy Farina (Evens), Jason Hutto (Aquarium), and Ben Azzara (Capitol City Dusters) among others.

The Faraquet singles comp, Anthology 1997-98 was released in the USA on July 28, 2008 on CD, MP3 and LP+MP3. The 12" LP of this album comes with a free download coupon.

In the summer of 2007 the members of Faraquet announced plans to re-issue the songs they had recorded for various singles and split releases onto a compilation CD/LP/MP3. All the songs were re-mixed by Devin Ocampo and re-mastered by Chad Clark at Silver Sonya. Working on this project rekindled the band-members' interest in playing the songs and the band reunited (minus bass player Jeff Boswell) for a Brazilian tour in 2007. Faraquet will be performing, with all original members, on September 18th at the Black Cat in Washington, DC.
